ASPIRE - Elite Classical Ballet
Extension Program

Aspire is a program designed for dedicated and passionate ballet students to take their training to the next level. It is an opportunity to fine-tune and advance technical skills, musicality, artistry and performance skills, and for students to receive regular one-to-one coaching.

Entry requirements

To qualify for Aspire, dancers must also be enrolled in at least two weekly ballet classes, for the entire year.

Most importantly, students auditioning for Aspire will need to display an eagerness and an aptitude for more serious learning, and consistent behaviour in class. This includes:

  • a quiet, focused work ethic in all classes
  • excellent attendance and punctuality
  • attention to presentation (hair & uniform)
  • regular at-home practice and commitment to improvement
  • grace and respect for their teachers and all fellow students.

Aspire students are future leaders and should set an example to other Rain & Lucky students.

Commitment Expectation

Aspire is also about team work and requires a full year’s commitment across all four terms. 100% attendance is expected, most importantly at Joint Workshops/Rehearsals.

About the Aspire Program

In Aspire, we:

  • create an individual training program based on the needs of the student, to achieve optimum results
  • work one-on-one to achieve specific goals
  • work on both a solo and a corps de ballet (group choreography)
  • provide extra performance opportunities

Aspire teaches the importance of dedication, develops a strong work ethic, builds confidence, provides a unique education, strengthens friendships and is a lot of fun!

What’s Included in the Program?

  • 2 extra group classes per week (Mondays at Preston, or Thursdays at Fairfield): The Technique class includes ballet technique and conditioning. The Choreography class includes group choreography and artistry
  • 3 private lessons per term (Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays): individual technique & a personalised solo
  • 4 group workshop/rehearsal per year (Sundays), taught by special guests and including various classes such as Pas De Deux, Pointe/Pre-Pointe, Pilates & Repertoire
  • 3 performance seasons per year
  • Group & solo costume hire
  • 1 excursion to see a professional ballet performance (optional extra)

Preston Aspire students: Mondays:

  • Aspire Junior (Grade 1, 2 & 3 RAD): 4:15-5:45pm
  • Aspire Intermediate (Grade 4, 5 & 6 + Inter Found/Intermediate RAD): 4:15-6:00pm
  • Aspire Advanced (Grade 7+ & Advanced Foundation+ RAD): 6:00-7:45pm

Fairfield Aspire students: Thursdays:

  • Aspire Junior (Grade 1 & 2 RAD): 4:15-5:45pm
  • Aspire Intermediate (Grade 3-6 + Inter Found/Intermediate RAD): 4:15-6:00pm

Sunday Workshops

  • 22nd February, 21st June, 13th September, 8th November
  • 10:30am-2:00pm

2026 Performances

  • Mid-Year Concert (Sunday July 19th) – all Aspire students
  • Solo Performance Season (Friday June 12th) – all Aspire students
  • End of Year Starlets/Comets Concerts (Saturday 5th December/The Centre, Ivanhoe) – All Aspire students
  • End of Year Supernovas/Galaxies Concerts (Sunday 13th December/Magis Performing Arts Centre) – All Aspire students
  • Some students will also be invited to perform their solos in the Stardust/Moonbeams Concerts (Saturday Sunday November 21st & 22nd/Ivanhoe Girls Grammar)

What’s changing in 2026?

Next year we have lots of exciting changes in store for the Aspire program, to bring you a new and improved experience!

  • Weekly group classes will include both a Technique and a Choreography class, allowing students to get the most benefit out of each component 
  • Spring Showcase will be replaced by an intimate in-house showing of solos followed by a celebration for parents and students
  • Groups will be split into three levels rather than two, allowing more individualised development for each dancer
  • We will work on two ballets throughout the year rather than one, to keep it exciting and fresh
  • Choreography will be split into smaller groups for the majority of the dances, to allow for more seamless rehearsals and performances
  • Sunday workshops will include a range of classes including technique, conditioning, repertoire, pointe, pas de deux as well as rehearsals, to give dancers more experience in different areas and a lots of exciting content!
  • Our private lesson booking system is being updated to ensure the process and communication is super easy for all families.

2026 Fees

There is no increase in fees for 2026.

$299 per month (direct debit) OR

$2960.10 (upfront for the year) – save $328.90

Fees are paid monthly by direct debit (or upfront by February 1st) and are non-refundable/transferable.

Aspire fees are separate to regular Rain & Lucky class fees. All Aspire costumes are hired out to you and included in the price; no extra costs.
