Welcome to Term 4! Classes resume Monday October 6th and the studios will be buzzing with preparations for our end of year concerts….
We can’t wait to see everyone back in the studio!

Term 4 Focus: End of Year Concerts

In Term 4 our main focus is on preparing for our end of year concerts, while Assessment classes continue to focus on technique and strength to prepare them to advance to the next level in 2026. There are several different concerts, organised by age level. Please click below for all the concert information. In most cases, students perform in only one concert, however there are some exceptions – if you are unsure, just email hello@rainandlucky.com and we’ll be happy to assist.

Stardust Concerts (pre-school students) will be held at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd November. Stardust Dance Intro and Twinkle Tots don’t formally participate, but we give them an opportunity to come up on stage and dance free-form at the concert, which they love! Upper School Junior Concerts (Moonbeams, Starlets, Ballet grades Pre-Primary, Primary, Pre-Grade 1-Grade 2) will be held at Magis Performing Arts Centre, Watsonia on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December. For all the information, click here.

For ages 5-12: Bloom & Boogie Spring Dance Party

These school holidays, join us for a whole lot of fun, exercise and learning! Our Bloom & Boogie Dance Party is a school holiday program where everyone is welcome to attend - you do not need to be enrolled at Rain & Lucky. September 30th, October 1st & October 2nd at R&L Preston.

For ages 3-6: Fairy Garden Dance Party

A school holiday program for our tiniest dancers! Dance, craft and a special guest performance. Everyone is welcome but there are only a few places remaining! October 3rd at R&L Fairfield.

Yearbook Pre-Orders

Every year we produce a Yearbook, a beautiful keepsake celebrating ‘the year that was’ at Rain & Lucky. It includes class group photos, highlights and achievements. This year will be a special edition for our 10 year anniversary! To avoid unnecessary waste, we are now inviting you to pre-order your 2025 Yearbook, so we know exactly how many to print. To order yours, simply complete this quick form below and we will add it to your account ($35). Yearbooks will be available to collect from the studio in December. To view a copy of a past Yearbook, just ask us at reception.

Priority Re-Enrolment For 2026

In a few weeks, Rain & Lucky families will be invited to re-enrol for 2026, before we open enrolments to new students. You will be sent the new timetable and all the information you need to choose your classes in advance. Please note that students are only placed in classes at the discretion of Rain & Lucky staff; we can help you choose the most appropriate level and styles for your dancer.

10% Fees Discount

We will once again be offering a 10% discount on all classes if you would like to pay upfront for your 2026 classes. Keep an eye out for the Re-Enrolment Information coming soon!

RAD Assessment Season

A huge congratulations to each and every student who worked so hard preparing for our Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Assessment season in September. All their hard work culminated in five days of Graded Exams, Class Awards and Solo Performance Awards, before an official RAD examiner. The three days passed without a hitch and all the students had a wonderful time. We are now awaiting the results and will hand these out as soon as we receive them. In October, our Vocational Ballet students will be taking their exams, and we wish them all the best!

Free For All Week: December 8th - 13th

The last week of Term 4 is Free For All Week. Students are invited to try any extra classes they like for free! Keep an eye out for more info - we will send you the schedule closer to the time.

Photo Day: Sunday November 9th

Photo Day is where all students come to the studios in their concert costumes to be photographed! (Dance Intro and Twinkle Tots students can wear any outfit they like). This year all Stardust classes will be photographed at Fairfield, and all Upper School classes at Preston. Stay tuned for the schedule, which will be emailed to you soon.

Family Watching Week - Dance Intro & Twinkle Tots

As our Dance Intro & Twinkle Tots classes don't formally participate in our concerts, we instead have Family Watching Week, Monday 10th - Saturday 15th of November. Families are invited to come and watch classes at the usual time. We'll send you an email to remind you.

No Make-Ups in Term 4

Just a reminder that we do not offer make-up classes in Term 4, as each class is working on their own concert routine. The exceptions are Twinkle Tots and Dance Intro classes, which don't take part in the concert.

General Reminders 💡

Singing Classes

Don’t forget we have a singing school within Rain & Lucky Preston: Varlet Vocals. This is run by the lovely Jazmin Varlet. More info here.

Door Codes & Student Safety

While there are staff in the building, Rain & Lucky students and parents are able to access the studios with the codes: Preston: 3077 (the last 4 digits of the Preston phone number, printed on the door) Fairfield: 6724 (the last 4 digits of the Fairfield phone number) We require parents to come to the studio door to collect children, rather than having them meet you on the street, unless you have signed a Permission To Arrive & Leave Independently form – thank you.

Your Direct Debit

Unless you have opted to pay for the full year upfront, your monthly direct debit is charged on the 1st of each month, from February to December only. Direct debits to your account will continue until December, unless a Cancellation of Enrolment form is completed. Direct debit is the same amount each month regardless of how many classes are in the month. This includes school holidays, since the payments are averaged out over the full year. Two weeks' written notice is required to cancel membership; Your next month’s tuition will be processed if notice is received after the 15th of the month. Any extras you choose to put on your account (eg. uniform items) will be charged to your account within 48 hours. 

A Simple Bun Tutorial

A reminder that a ballet bun is part of the girls’ uniform requirement for ALL ballet classes for school-aged students. Miss Rose has kindly made this tutorial video for you! We’re always happy to help show you how to do a bun as well.
