Dear Rain & Lucky families,
Our very exciting professional Photo Day is coming up on Sunday November 10th at Rain & Lucky Preston & Fairfield.
This will double as a final costume check for the concert, so it is important that all students attend.
Both class group and individual photos will be taken. If your child is in more than one class and needs to stay at the studio between shoots, that is no problem.
Entire concert costumes must be worn with hair, tights and shoes worn as per the concert. Students should arrive at their designated time, in costume, with hair already done, wherever possible.
We are happy to pose students for a family photo if you would like; please ask on the day.
Group photographs will used for our very special 2024 Yearbook (pre-order yours here). Group and individual photos will also be available for purchase directly from the photographer, via links emailed to you.
If any experienced Senior students would like to volunteer to help at Photo Day, we’d love to hear from them!
Costumes & Body Stockings
Costumes will be handed out in class during October and November. They are then your responsibility – please keep them clean and ready for Photo Day and Concert Day! (Do not return them in between) In most cases, costumes are yours to keep (unless a hire costume from our wardrobe).
Some students may feel more comfortable wearing a body stocking (a skin-coloured leotard) under their costume. You can purchase these from the studio in advance if needed.
Hair/Tights/Shoes
Female ballet students must have clean ballet tights and ballet shoes. Hair in a very tidy ballet bun with gel/spray/nets and pins.
All other dance styles must have tan coloured jazz tights (no bare legs) and shoes as per the uniform for that class. Hair in a very tidy ponytail with gel or hairspray. If you are uncertain, just let us know and we will be happy to clarify!
We have tights and hair-kits at reception if you would like to purchase these in advance of the day.
Kiss and Drop Policy
With almost 700 students to photograph across both studios, Photo Day is going to be super busy – please kiss-and-drop kids and let our expert staff do the rest! (Exceptions for very young students). Our Fairfield studio in particular gets crowded quickly and we really appreciate being able to maintain a stress-free atmosphere with fewer people on site. Parents are not permitted into the studio where photos are being taken under any circumstances (exceptions for very young students).
