Term 4 focus
In Term 4 our main focus is on preparing for our end of year concerts, while Exam classes continue to focus on technique and strength, to prepare them to advance to the next level in 2024. Please see below for all the concert information, including which concert(s) your child is involved in.
Exam season
A huge congratulations to each and every student who worked so hard preparing for our Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examination season in August. All their hard work culminated in three days of Exams, Class Awards and Solo Performance Awards before an official examiner. The three days passed without a hitch and all the students had a wonderful time. We are now awaiting the results and will hand these out as soon as we receive them.
Classical Extension Workshop
Keen ballet students who would like some extra training are invited to register for our Classical Ballet Extension Workshop on Sunday October 1st at our Preston studios. This workshop is open to all ballet students aged 9 and above. Our teachers this time are the amazing Miss Ezlimar from National Theatre Ballet School, our very own Miss Jojo, plus Kate-Elissah Tallamy from Move Dance Melbourne. To register, or for more information, just send us an email.
Re-Enrolment
In late October, Rain & Lucky families will be invited to re-enrol for 2024, before we open enrolments to new students. You will be sent the new timetable and all the information you need to choose your classes in advance. Please note that students are only placed in classes at the discretion of Rain & Lucky staff; we can help you choose the most appropriate level and styles for your dancer.
Photo Day: Sunday November 12th
This year’s photo day is on Sunday November 12th at both Fairfield and Preston studios. Each class will be allocated a time to be photographed in their concert costumes. The photos will then be available to purchase directly from the photographer. Stay tuned for the schedule.
Open Week: December 4th-9th
The last week of Term 4 is Open Week. Students are invited to try any extra classes they like for free!
Spring Showcase
Congratulations to all the dancers who took part in our Spring Showcase performance at Darebin Arts Centre on September 16th. We have professional photos and video coming to you soon, with our compliments.
Bring a Bloke Day
Thank you to everyone who donated and to all the dads and father figures who came to dance with us on Bring a Bloke Day. We raised $830 for Children’s Ground, a First Nations organisation creating a new future for the next generation of children.
Congratulations
Congratulations to the following students who will be performing with the Melbourne Youth Ballet Company soon: Catherine Marty, Elliot Loveday and Eliza Stewart, and to Anja Stewart who will be performing with the State Youth Ballet Company.

GENERAL REMINDERS
Door Codes & Student Safety
While there are staff in the building, Rain & Lucky students and parents are able to access the studios with the codes: Preston: 3077 (the last 4 digits of the Preston phone number, printed on the door).
Fairfield 6724 (the last 4 digits of the Fairfield phone number, soon to be printed on the door).
We require parents to come into the studio to collect children, rather than having them meet you on the street – thank you for your cooperation.
Your direct debit
Unless you have opted to pay for the full year upfront, your monthly direct debit is charged on the 1st of each month, from February to December only. Direct debits to your account will continue until December, unless otherwise notified in writing to hello@rainandlucky.com. Direct debit is the same amount each month regardless of how many classes are in the month. This includes school holidays, since the payments are averaged out over the full year. One month’s written notice is required to cancel membership or reduce your number of weekly classes. Your next month’s tuition will be processed if notice is received after the 10th of the month. Any extras you choose to put on your account (eg. uniform items) will be charged to your card within 48 hours.
