Dear Rain & Lucky families,

Here is all the info you need for this year’s Stardust concert, “Once Upon a Dream”!

The Vibe

Rain & Lucky has the experience of the pre-school dance concert down to a fine art! Please rest assured that our priority is the students having a wonderful – and safe – time. Each group is assigned to a helper. Students will have a chance to practice on stage before the show. They will have fun watching the other groups rehearse their dances. We will also provide them with quiet activities to do while they wait. They’ll get to meet and interact with some of our senior students and see them dance on stage. Each class performs with their teacher on stage with them, so no worries about forgetting the choreography. The show runs for under an hour and finishes with an informal dance for all.

Drop-off

Drop students to us in the foyer and they will be supervised until sign-out after the show. For child safety and ease of operations, no parents are permitted backstage except Official Volunteers. Please allow our expert team to do what they do best 🙂

If you have a Working With Children Check and would like to volunteer to help on the day, let us know ASAP.

Costumes

All students should arrive in costume with hair already done.

Costumes will be handed out in class during October and November. They are then your responsibility – please keep them clean and ready for Photo Day (November 10th) and Concert Day! Do not return them in between. In most cases, costumes are yours to keep (unless a hire costume from our wardrobe).

Hair (female students)

Aim for a super tidy ballet bun with pins, nets and hairspray/gel. We sell hair kits at the studio if you need one. No make-up is required. We totally understand that for this age group, hair might not happen, but if you can attempt a bun, here’s an easy tutorial we created for you.

Tights (female students)

Ballet tights should be worn with all costumes. These are available to purchase at the studio.

Body stockings

A body stocking is a neutral coloured leotard that can be worn under costumes. Ideal for kids who find costumes itchy, or want to wear something under their costumes. We sell body stockings at the studio if you need one.

Food

Please bring adequate food/water for the day and remind children to put something over their costume when eating. No nuts, please.

Performance video

We a professional videographer booked for the day to capture everything – we are pleased to provide this to you at no cost.
