2024 Term Dates
Term 1: February 5th – March 28th
Term 2: April 15th – June 29th
Term 3: July 15th – September 21st
Term 4: October 7th – December 14th
Classes do not run on public holidays. If your regular class falls on a public holiday, you are welcome to arrange a make-up class. These must be booked within the same term and do not roll over.
Term 4 Focus: End of Year Concerts
In Term 4 our main focus is on preparing for our end of year concerts, while Assessment classes continue to focus on technique and strength to prepare them to advance to the next level in 2025. There are six separate concerts, organised by age level. Please click below for all the concert information. In most cases, students perform in only one concert, however there are some exceptions – if you are unsure, just email hello@rainandlucky.com and we’ll be happy to assist.
Stardust Concerts (pre-school students) will be held at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School on Saturday 30th November. Stardust Level 1 and Twinkle Tots don’t formally participate, but we give them an opportunity to come up on stage and dance free-form at the concert, which they love! Upper School Preston Concerts (school-aged Preston students) will be held at Darebin Arts Centre on Saturday 7th December. For all Upper School Preston Concert information, click here.
Upper School Fairfield Concerts (school-aged Fairfield students) will be held at Darebin Arts Centre on Sunday 8th December. For all Upper School Fairfield Concert information, click here.

School Holiday Program
There are still some places available in our full-day school holiday program Tuesday 1st – Thursday 3rd October at Preston (5-12 year olds) and our half-day program at Fairfield on Friday 4th October (3-6 year olds). For all the information or to register, please click here.
Two New Classes For Tiny Dancers: 18 months – 5 years
We have added two brand new classes to the timetable – get in quick to secure your spot!
Twinkle Tots (minimum age 18 months) is a dance class designed for kids and their parent/guardian to take together – a fabulous bonding experience for you and your child. Besides developing motor skills and coordination, these dance classes are great for building confidence and independence, releasing energy, making new friends and laying the foundations for lifelong skills. Twinkle Tots is a 45 minute class which includes 15 minutes on our exciting soft gym equipment. Click here for a sneak peek!
Stardust Jazz & Hip Hop (3.5 – 5 year olds). This is the perfect dance class for energetic pre-school kids who love to move to modern, upbeat music and are ready to join class without a parent/guardian. As with all of the Rain & Lucky Stardust dance classes, this program teaches the foundations of correct, safe technique, but wrapped up in fun, imagination and creativity. Great for building confidence, developing motor skills and rhythm, and making friends.

Yearbook Pre-Orders
Every year we produce a Yearbook, a beautiful keepsake celebrating ‘the year that was’ at Rain & Lucky. It includes class group photos, highlights and achievements.
To avoid unnecessary waste, we are now inviting you to pre-order your 2024 Yearbook, so we know exactly how many to print. To order yours, simply complete this quick form and we will add it to your account ($23). Yearbooks will be available to collect from the studio in December.

Photo Day: Sunday November 10th
This year’s Photo Day is on Sunday November 10th at both Fairfield and Preston studios. Each class will be allocated a time to be photographed in their concert costumes. The photos will then be available to purchase directly from the photographer. For all the info, and the schedule, please click here.
Priority Re-Enrolment For 2025
In late October, Rain & Lucky families will be invited to re-enrol for 2025, before we open enrolments to new students. You will be sent the new timetable and all the information you need to choose your classes in advance. Please note that students are only placed in classes at the discretion of Rain & Lucky staff; we can help you choose the most appropriate level and styles for your dancer.
Free For All Week: December 9th-14th
The last week of Term 4 is Free For All Week. Students are invited to try any extra classes they like for free! Keep an eye out for more info.
RAD Assessment Season
A huge congratulations to each and every student who worked so hard preparing for our Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Assessment season in August. All their hard work culminated in three days of Graded Exams, Class Awards and Solo Performance Awards before an official RAD examiner. The three days passed without a hitch and all the students had a wonderful time. We are now awaiting the results and will hand these out as soon as we receive them.
Our Vocational students will be sitting their exam on Thursday 17th October – we wish them all the best.
Congratulations To Hannah Wilson And The Grade 8s
Our Grade 8 Ballet students Alannah Savage, Hannah Willis, Charlotte Gilbo and Hannah Wilson participated in the Audrey Nicholls Awards recently, with Hannah going through to the finals and receiving an Honourable Mention. Huge congratulations to all!
Spring Showcase Success
Congratulations to all the dancers who took part in our Spring Showcase performance at Darebin Arts Centre on September 14th. We have a professional video and photos coming to you soon, with our compliments.
Bring A Bloke Day
Thank you to everyone who donated and to all the dads and father figures who came to dance with us on Bring a Bloke Day. We raised $730 for TLC For Kids, a children’s charity providing practical and emotional support to sick kids and their families in their darkest hours.
Singing Classes

GENERAL REMINDERS
Door Codes & Student Safety
While there are staff in the building, Rain & Lucky students and parents are able to access the studios with the codes:
Preston: 3077 (the last 4 digits of the Preston phone number, printed on the door).
Fairfield: 6724 (the last 4 digits of the Fairfield phone number, soon to be printed on the door).
We require parents to come into the studio to collect children, or meet them at the door, rather than having them meet you on the street.
Your Direct Debit
Unless you have opted to pay for the full year upfront, your monthly direct debit is charged on the 1st of each month, from February to December only. Direct debits to your account will continue until December, unless otherwise notified in writing to hello@rainandlucky.com. Direct debit is the same amount each month regardless of how many classes are in the month. This includes school holidays, since the payments are averaged out over the full year. One month’s written notice is required to cancel membership or reduce your number of weekly classes. Your next month’s tuition will be processed if notice is received after the 10th of the month. Any extras you choose to put on your account (eg. uniform items) will be charged to your card within 48 hours.
