Important info and FAQs
Please take 5 minutes to read these and get to know our Academy.
Direct debits occur on the 1st of each month, from February to December. Unless you add any items to your account, it will be the same amount each month, regardless of the number of weeks in the month. This includes school holidays, since the payment plan is averaged out over 11 months. You can always find fee information here. You may change or update your card details at any time yourself by logging into the portal here. Tuition is non-refundable, and no credit will be given for classes missed.
Correct uniform is required for every class, except Twinkle Tots and Stardust Dance Intro, (ballet shoes only required) and Drama (no uniform). Rain & Lucky uniform is available to purchase directly from the school. You can view the uniform here. We recommend booking a time with us the week before your class, particularly if enrolling at the start of a term. Please ensure all personal items are named.
No – however we have created a private Facebook group where you are welcome to buy and sell second-hand uniform items amongst Rain & Lucky families.
There is no bun requirement for our Stardust students! Once they reach our Upper School (school-aged kids), ballet students will need to have their hair in a bun. You are welcome to give it a go now if you have a super keen tiny dancer! Here is a tutorial. There are hair-kits available to purchase at the studio if you need one.
Our learning programs are structured as per these Progression guides. Class placement is at the discretion of Rain & Lucky in the interest of safety and best progression.
We know how keen our girls are to get into pointe shoes! This special art form takes years of preparation; students must be taking at least two hours of ballet weekly from around age 8. It is vital to train carefully and safely towards this goal, which is not achieved automatically once a certain age is reached. Every student is assessed individually by a dance physiotherapist when they are ready for pre-pointe training, at the discretion of our expert teachers.
Yes, all students, except for Twinkle Tots and Stardust Dance Intro, take part in our concerts – this is the highlight of the year for all our students. (While Twinkle Tots and Stardust Dance Intro students do not formally participate, they have an opportunity to dance on stage at the Stardust Concert). The date is also available to view in your online account.
Saturday 22nd November 2025 at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar
No refunds are given for classes missed. A maximum of two make-up classes may be taken in the same term, subject to availability – these do not roll over to the next term. If your class falls on a public holiday you’re also entitled to book a make-up class any day in the same term. Please email hello@rainandlucky.com to book a make-up class.
For the safety and security of all our students, staff, families, studio hirers, guests, and of our premises, CCTV cameras are installed at Rain & Lucky Fairfield and Preston, in the locations of:
- Dance studios
- Main foyers/waiting room
- Front doors
Footage is recorded and may be saved for future reference in the event of an incident.
Rain & Lucky front doors are accessible with a security code which is provided to families and hirers. For the safety of all studio users, this code must never be shared with the public.
Parents are requested to come into the studio to collect students, rather than have them meet you on the street.
You may cancel your enrolment or drop a class at any time by giving Rain & Lucky written (email) notice by the 10th of the month. If notice is received after the 10th, the next month’s tuition will be charged for. Re-enrolment is only possible pending class availability.
For Stardust classes, please ensure children have been to the bathroom before class. Please do not bring water bottles to these classes as they become a distraction. Food is permitted in the waiting areas only, not the dance studios. We do have some students with severe allergies, so please be mindful to wash hands, and don’t bring nuts.
Please let us know (hello@rainandlucky.com) so that we are prepared to support the student.
Your enrolment is subject to our Terms, Conditions & Policies, which are publicly available to view on our website. Changes may be made to these Terms, Conditions & Policies at any time.
