Rain & Lucky Newsletter: Term 3
Welcome to Term 3! Classes resume Monday July 13th and we can’t wait to see everyone back in the studio. We have lots of exciting news to share with you in this newsletter.
2026 Term Dates
Term 1: Mon 2nd Feb – Thur 2nd April (No classes: Mon 9th March – Labour Day)
Term 2: Mon 20th Apr – Sat 27th June (No classes: 25th Apr -ANZAC Day & Mon 8th June - King’s Birthday)
Term 3: Mon 13th July – Sat 19th Sept
Term 4: Mon 5th Oct – Sat 12th Dec (No classes: Tues 3rd Nov-Melb Cup)
Classes do not run on public holidays. If your regular class falls on a public holiday, you are welcome to arrange a Swap Class. These must be booked within the same term and do not roll over.
Child Safety: Permission to Arrive & Leave Independently
We require all students to be collected from the studio door, rather than walking to meet a parent/guardian at the car. If for any reason you will not be collecting students from the door, you must sign a Permission to Arrive & Leave Independently Form (click here).
This also applies to students wishing to leave the building to get food - whether from a R&L studio, or from one of our concert venues.

We are so excited to announce the themes for this year’s concerts:
Stardust (PINK LEOTARDS) pre-school program: November 21st & 22nd: "WHEN I GROW UP"
Each class performs one day only - check the buttons below.
Moonbeams (LILAC LEOTARDS) including Pre-Primary & Primary Ballet: November 21st & 22nd: "SKY'S THE LIMIT"
Each class performs one day only - check the buttons below.
Starlets & Comets (BLUE & TEAL LEOTARDS) including Grade 1-5 Ballet: December 5th: "PETER PAN"
Starlets & Comets have a compulsory Stage Rehearsal on 26/27 Nov - check the buttons below.
Supernovas & Galaxies (BLACK & NAVY LEOTARDS): including Grade 6 & Vocational Ballet: December 13th: "ICONS"
PLEASE NOTE:
There will be no Starlets/Comets classes at either studio on Saturday 5th December (all other classes will run as normal).
There will be no Stardust classes at either studio on Saturday 21st November (Upper School classes will run as normal).
All groups have their Stage Rehearsal on the same day as the concert, except Starlets & Comets, who have rehearsal on a separate day.
Stardust & Moonbeams students have their Photo Day on the same day as their concert. All other groups have their Photo Day separately. All info is provided via the buttons below.

Preston Waiting Area Closed
Preston Studio 1 is currently closed for maintenance. In the meantime we have set up a third studio in the foyer. During this time our waiting area is closed, and we kindly ask parents/guardians to "kiss-and-drop" for all after school and Saturday classes (with the exception of Stardust classes). Students are still welcome to wait at the studio between classes, but we do not have the space to accommodate parents/guardians/siblings. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Senior School Mid-Year Showcase
Everyone is invited to watch our amazing Senior Students in their upcoming Mid-Year Showcase on Sunday July 19th at the Clocktower Centre!
Costume Return Reminder
Please remember to return all Mid-Year Costumes including any accessories, the week after the Showcase. All items must be in a named bag, and can be returned to the front desk at either Rain & Lucky studio.
RAD Assessments
This year's Royal Academy of Dance Assessments have been confirmed for August 26th-28th.

Preston Student Lounge Updates
Our Student Lounge is a dedicated space for Senior Students (Comets/Supernovas/Galaxies) to warm-up, socialise and do homework.
Anyone who is not a Senior Student is not permitted to wait in this area. Younger students and parents/guardians may use the bathrooms/changerooms, but must not wait in this area.

Water Bottles
Stay hydrated in style! Rain & Lucky water bottles are now available to purchase from reception, in a range of fun colours. $52.95 for the large and $29.95 for small.
Winter Uniform
As we move into the cooler months, correct uniform is still required in all classes. This includes warm-up items. We have jackets, trackies, legwarmers, tees and onesies that are all official warm-up uniform – other items are not permitted in class. Please remember also not to wear dance shoes on the street! This helps us protect our floors, and ensures your dance shoes last longer.
A Simple Bun Tutorial
A reminder that a ballet bun is part of the girls’ uniform requirement for ALL ballet classes for school-aged students - including Moonbeams! Here's a quick and easy tutorial for you. We’re always happy to help show you how to do a bun as well.
Footwear – very important
Help us protect our dance floors so that they are always in the best condition for our dancers (and prolong the life of your dance shoes!) by ensuring that dance shoes are never worn outside, and that students aren’t arriving barefoot. Every student must wear street shoes to and from the studio and change once inside the building. Warm-up booties are a fun and practical alternative that can be worn over top of dance shoes if you prefer.

Door Codes & Student Safety
While there are staff in the building, Rain & Lucky students and parents are able to access the studios with the code:
8744 (the last 4 digits of the R&L phone number, printed on the door in case you forget)

Your Direct Debit
Unless you have opted to pay for the full year upfront, your monthly direct debit is charged on the 1st of each month, from February to December only. Direct debits to your account will continue until December, unless otherwise notified in writing to hello@rainandlucky.com. Direct debit is the same amount each month regardless of how many classes are in the month. This includes school holidays, since the payments are averaged out over the full year. Two weeks' written notice is required to cancel your membership. Your next month’s tuition will be processed if notice is received after the 15th of the month. Any extras you choose to put on your account (eg. uniform items) will be charged to your card within 48 hours.
